Shechita for Educational Purposes in a Synagogue
Question
To the honorable rabbis,
A kollel studying Chullin is organizing a practical demonstration class with the shechita of a real lamb.
There is a synagogue that is in the process of being built and has not been completed due to lack of funds.
The synagogue has two floors.
While work was being done on the upper floor, for several years prayers were held on the lower floor, without flooring and the like.
When they finished building and completing the upper floor, they moved the prayers to the upper floor, and on the lower floor they hold kiddushim.
When circumstances allow, they will put flooring in and divide the lower floor into shtieblach (and perhaps part of it into a hall).
Is it currently permitted to hold the class with the shechita of a lamb on the lower floor, or is this a degradation of the synagogue?
Thank you in advance
