Adding water to an electric urn on Yom Tov

Question

Is it permitted on Yom Tov to add cold water to an electric urn?

Answer

Shalom u'vracha 

For an urn that does not have a thermostat, it is permitted to add water. 

In more modern urns that have a thermostat, it is forbidden to add water.
