Participation of a Mother in Mourning in a Dance Performance

Question

I am in my year of mourning.
My daughter studied during the year in a dance class with songs and dances.
Now there is a final performance summarizing the whole year.
It is very important to my daughter that I attend.
May I participate?
Is it permissible for me to attend with earplugs and enter only for the songs in which she participates?

Answer

Hello and blessings.

You may attend the songs in which your daughter performs, and there is no need to block your ears.

Since your participation is for your daughter’s benefit, and not for the enjoyment of the singing.
