Charging a Hearing Aid on Shabbat
Question
I use rechargeable hearing aids. Is it permitted on Shabbat, when the Shabbat timer is in the off position, to place the hearing aids into the charger, and then later remove them again when the timer is in the off position, while in the meantime the Shabbat timer turned the current to the charger on and off?

The ruling of our teacher Rabbi Amram Fried shlita is to permit it.
Since this is grama for the needs of an ill person and for a great need.
