Reserve duty in a place where Shabbat desecration will be required

Hello, Rabbi,
May I, a priori, go to reserve duty where I will be required on Shabbat to carry out a patrol along the seam line in Shomron?

Answer

Shalom u’vracha.

It is permitted.

When there is a need involving pikuach nefesh, it is permitted, a priori, to guard even with Shabbat desecration.
