Chapter 11. The Laws of the Seventh Day of Pesach That Falls on Shabbat

Lighting Candles

When the seventh day of Pesach falls on Shabbat, one should light candles before the onset of the day and recite the blessing “to kindle the light of Shabbat and Yom Tov.” The blessing of “Shehecheyanu” is not recited, and only “Mizmor Shir LeYom HaShabbat” is said [1] .

Reciting Shalom Aleichem

The common custom is to recite “Shalom Aleichem” on Friday night when the seventh day of Pesach falls on Shabbat [2] , though there are those who do not recite it [3] .
