Ceux qui permettent l'utilisation de lingettes humides : Baal Igrot Moshe (dans Shu"t Ravivot Ephraim, Partie 6, Siman 190, Section 3), Baal Mishnah Halachot (Gilayon Aliba Dehalachta, Gilayon 63, p. 55), Shmirat Shabbat Kehilchata (Chapitre 14, Section 37) qui permet une certaine indulgence si l'on essuie doucement et sans presser la lingette. Chazon Ovadia (Shabbat, Partie 4, p. 148, Section 20), Maamar Mordechai (Eliyahu, Shabbat, Partie 3).
Le Gaon Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach (Shmirat Shabbat Kehilchata, Chapitre 14, Note 99, et dans Maor HaShabbat, Partie 2, Lettre 21, 22) était incertain à ce sujet. Cependant, dans Orchot Shabbat, Birurei Halacha, Siman 7, il est écrit que le Gaon Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach s'est rétracté et a interdit cela absolument.
